Jordan’s King meets representatives of Palestinian refugee camps

King Abdullah II met at the Royal Hashemite Court on Wednesday with a number of dignitaries and representatives of the Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan.

“I welcome you to the house of all Jordanians and I am proud to be among my brothers and my family today,” said King Abdullah II.

The meeting discussed a number of issues including local and regional affairs, especially the Palestinian issue which the king affirmed that it is a priority for Jordan, saying “our position towards the Palestinian cause is constant and does not change”.

On the local affairs, King Abdullah II said he understands the challenges facing Jordanians today, “which are linked to the economic situation, poverty and unemployment. This requires building a program that aims at creating jobs and attracting investment in various regions of the Kingdom as well as improving the infrastructure”.

The Jordanian king pointed to the importance of cooperation between all state institutions to alleviate the challenges and burdens facing the camps.
