Qalqilya, ALRAY - The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) broke on early Wednesday into the Old Mosque of Omar Ibn Al-Khattab in the West Bank city of Qalqilya.
The IOF was accompanied by an archeologist who photographed the mosque for the second time in a week.

The Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Idais decried the storming of the mosque, indicating that the places of worship in Palestine are not safe anymore.

The Minister added that the continuous assaults of the IOF against the Palestinian holy sites is an evidence on the occupation’s barbaric policy against such holy sites.

The Minister stressed that the Palestinian holy sites are exclusive places for Muslims, and that the people of Palestine will keep fighting all Israeli attempts that seek to impose a political de facto on such holy sites.

He considered that the protection of holy sites in Palestine is not the responsibility of the Palestinians alone, rather all Muslims and liberals of the world have to support Palestinians in protecting these holy sites.
