Gaza, ALRAY - The Committee for Prisoners' Affairs warned of the deaths of Palestinian prisoners among hunger strikers in the Israeli jails for 24 days, after serious deterioration in the health
conditions of dozens of hunger strikers.
The committee called for the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and all international organizations to take their responsibilities and intervene urgently to save the lives of sick prisoners and to protect Palestinian prisoners who are generally subjected to arbitrary measures, recklessness and indifference from Israeli side.
Abdel Nasser Farwana, head of the Studies and Documentation Unit and a member of the committee responsible for running the Authority's affairs in Gaza Strip, said that all the prisoners who have been on hunger strike since April 17 are living in tragic conditions , subjected to inhumane treatment, fatigue, exhaustion, and they can’t move and do their needs by themselves.
He said that Israeli prison administration began its repression of the strikers since the first day in an unprecedented manner and escalated its arbitrary and oppressive measures against them during the past few days, and deliberately harms them physically and psychologically with the participation of a number of Israeli doctors.
