Founder of Islamic Movement in 1948 Occupied Territories dies

1948 territories, ALRAY- The founder of the Islamic Movement in 1948 Occupied Territories, Sheikh Abdullah Darwish, passed away on Sunday morning at the age of 69, from the city of Kafr Qasim, in the hospital of 'Hasharon' in the city of Petah Tikva.

Darwish was born in 1948 and graduated in 1971 from the Islamic school in Nablus. He began to establish the Islamic Movement within the Green Line, influenced by the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood.
In 1972, he established the first nucleus of the Islamic movement in Kafr Qasim. His activity was limited to call for the Islamic religion until 1974, and his invitation to return to Islam reached the neighboring towns of Kafr Bara, Jaljuliya, Tira and Taybeh.

His activities were expanded in 1978 to Umm al-Fahm, Baqa al-Gharbiya, Jatt and other towns of the Northern Mothalath, in 1979 reached the Negev, and the activities of his movement were expanded in 1980 to include Nazareth and Galilee
