Jerusalem, ALRAY - Interior committee of Israeli keenest approved, in the second and third reading, a dangerous amendment on the law of planning and building leads to accelerating producers of Palestinian house demolition in the pre-occupied Palestine.
The amendment aimed to move from judicial procedures into administrative ones; the law is expected to be presented on the general commotion of the keenest for vote on Wednesday.
The amendment will be on the article 109 of the law, which allows issuing an administrative order to stop any illegal construction and impose financial fees instead of waiting for judicial measures in the courts.
The Israeli judicial advisor Kaminitz said that the previous law allowed to present those who violate the construction law to the court but it was not fully applied; the new law increased the amount of the fees.
The Mossawa Centre, an advocacy centre for Arab citizens in Israel, said in a statement that “the Kaminitz bill, which will increase home demolitions and further criminalise unauthorised housing and construction, is expected to pass its final reading in the Knesset before March 20, 2017.”
The advocacy centre said, previously, that this measure was ordered by Netanyahu’s office, noting that “the bill entered its second reading in the Knesset Interior and Environment Committee on 30 January and it is expected to pass on March.”
The Mossawa Centre added “The State of Israel has allocated lands and provided planning services for over six hundred Jewish communities since its establishment in 1948, yet it has not created a single Arab locality, aside from the seven it established to concentrate the Bedouin community in the south.
Meanwhile, the government refuses to recognise many of the pre-existing Arab villages.”
