Israeli forces arrest eight Palestinian, including a teen

Les forces "israéliennes" arrêtent huit Palestiniens, dont un adolescent

Occupied Jerusalem, ALRAY- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested on Monday at dawn, a Palestinian teen claiming that he possessed a machine gun. The Israeli occupation radio said the Israeli soldiers arrested the teen on the Shuafat checkpoint north of Jerusalem, after being caught in possession of weapon. They also announced the arrest of seven Palestinian citizens from different parts of the occupied West Bank, claiming that they were involved in resistance activities.

Israeli occupation forces routinely carry out arrest raids in the West Bank. Around 40 percent of Palestinian men living in the occupied territories have been detained by Israel at some point in their lives.

Despite international, occupation forces continue to arrest children. Approximately 700 Palestinian children under the age of 18 from the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Pre-1948 occupied Palestine are prosecuted every year through Israeli military courts. The most common charge against children is throwing stones, which under military law is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. Currently 210 Palestinian children are held in Israeli prisons.
